Motorola has unveiled the Moto G9
smartphone in India today. With a pricing of Rs. 11,499 (US$ 153), the handset
has arrived to arrive with Redmi. Realme, and Samsung phones in its price
segment. The Moto G9 is the first phone in India to feature the Snapdragon 662
SoC. The handset has arrived as the successor for the Snapdragon 665 powered
Moto G8 phone that debuted earlier this year.
The polycarbonate bodied Motorola Moto G9
measures 165.2 1 x 75.73 x 9.18mm. The smartphone comes with a water-repellent
construction and it has a waterdrop notch IPS LCD display of 6.5 inches. The
Max Vision screen offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a tall
aspect ratio of 20:9. The Lenovo-owned smartphone offers a screen space of 87
percent. The Snapdragon 662 that went official in January 2020 drives the phone
with 4 GB of RAM. For storage, the handset offers an internal storage of 128 GB
and a microSD card slot.
The front notch of the Moto G9 houses an
f/2.2 aperture 8-megapixel selfie camera. The square-shaped module on the back
has an LED flash, an f/1.7 aperture 48-megapixel main camera, an f/2.2 aperture
2-megapixel Macro Vision lens, and an f/2.2 aperture 2-megapixel sensor for
depth effects. The rear cameras of the Moto G9 offer plenty of features like
quad pixel technology, Night Vision, smart composition, auto smile capture,
shot optimization, spot color, hyper-lapse, high-resolution zoom, and Google
lens integration.
The Android 10 OS along with Motorola’s My
UX runs on the Moto G9. The company claims that the Moto G9 is free from
bloatware and adware and it delivers stock Android experience. Also, there are
no duplicate apps on the device. The phone features a dedicated button for
summoning Google Assistant. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that can last
for up to 2 days on a single charge. The massive battery can offer streaming
music for 83 hours, streaming video for 16 hours, and web browsing for 13
hours. The phone supports 20W Turbo Power rapid charging technology.
A fingerprint scanner is embedded under
the rear-positioned batwing logo of the company. The device also supports face
recognition. The connectivity features available on the smartphone include dual
SIM support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, NFC for
contactless payments, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Moto G9 has landed in India
with a price tag of Rs. 11,499 (US$ 153). It comes in two colors such as Sapphire
Blue and Forest Green. The first sales of the smartphone will be carried out at
12 PM on Aug. 31 through Flipkart.
