Video conferencing has become a vital tool
in 2020, as the pandemic and quarantine measures have forced nearly all of us
to work from home. Zoom leads this market space with their cloud video
conferencing tool and now, they are launching a new category called Zoom for
Home, that will release dedicated hardware devices for an upgraded home office
experience.
The first device to be launched is an
all-in-one personal collaboration device, called the DTEN ME. It is a 27-inch
touch display that includes 3 built-in smart cameras for video and an
8-microphone array for clear voice recording. The device is designed to have
easy, one-touch video meetings, crystal clear phone calls, seamless content
sharing, interactive whiteboarding, and co-annotation.
Zoom for Home devices will share many
features with its enterprise focussed offering too. These include the ability
to start ad-hoc or scheduled meetings, sync with the user’s calendar, status,
meeting settings, and even be set up to be IT-managed remotely. The DTEN ME is
also great for educators who wish conduct classes with audio-enhanced
whiteboarding and co-annotation capabilities.
The DTEN ME is available for pre-order in
the US starting today, with shipping expected to start in August 2020, for a
price of US$ 599.
