iPhone 12 Pro Max

In the databases of the Korean and Chinese regulators, the registration data of a new battery was found, the marking of which (A2389) indicates that it belongs to an Apple device. Batteries with similar markings are installed on the iPhone, and the new battery is also clearly reserved for some kind of Apple smartphone. This model can become a record holder for battery capacity. It could be the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It’s all about battery capacity: Apple hasn’t had a smartphone battery over 4,000 mAh yet. Here we have a battery of 4380 mAh. Such a battery is clearly addressed to the largest model in the new line – the iPhone 12 Pro Max. True, according to other sources, this model will use a much smaller A2466 battery of 3687 mAh. Considering that the smartphone will support 5G, it would be more logical to install a battery with a larger capacity, but what Apple will do at the end is still a question.

It is worth to mention that recently, the competent authority in South Korea has certified three new Apple batteries. The timing suggests that it is the batteries of the iPhone 12 lineup. The new iPhone is also to be launched in three different sizes. The batteries supposedly have 3687, 2775 and 2227 mAh. If this information corresponds to reality and the batteries are really intended for the next iPhone models, at least two of them would be lower than their respective predecessors.

For comparison: The iPhone 11 has a battery with a capacity of 3110 mAh. If Apple installed the weakest of the three new batteries in the iPhone 12, this would be 2227 mAh – and thus a whole 883 mAh less. This is no small matter if the runtime of your device is important to you.

The difference between iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro would be 271 mAh smaller. The smartphone from 2019 has a capacity of 3046 mAh. Also, the iPhone 12 Pro Max would be inferior to its predecessor in this area: The iPhone 11 Pro Max offers a 3969 mAh battery – a decrease of 282 mAh.

According to the latest reports, the two Pro models of the iPhone 12 should be equipped with 6 GB RAM – an increase of 50 percent over the predecessors. The standard version, however, supposedly has only 4 GB of RAM. Apple should launch the iPhone 12 in a total of four versions. The smallest version will be only slightly larger than the iPhone 5s despite the display diagonal of 5.4 inches. In terms of design, you can expect a mix of iPad Pro and iPhone 4. At the beginning of September 2020, we will know more – including the prices for the individual versions.
