The vivo X50 family launched this week
includes three phones - vanilla vivo X50, a vivo X50 Pro, and the vivo X50
Pro+. While the first two were immediately available for pre-order in China,
the initial information on the availability of the mightiest of three was a
vague "July".
Now, we get a bit more as the X50 Pro+
appeared on the website of the Chinese online retailer JD.com. It will be
available for pre-order starting June 16, which points to actual shipments in
the early days of next month although a specific date is still not provided.
Prices begin from CNY 4,998 (US$ 700) for the 8/128GB version and go as high as
CNY 5,998 (US$ 840) for the 12/256GB option in Gravity Blue or Camel Leather (the
colors are machine-translated).
The vivo X50 Pro+ differs from the
non-Plus version with a 50MP camera featuring Samsung's brand new ISOCELL GN1
1/1.3” sensor. Unfortunately that module is too heavy for the gimble
stabilization of the vanilla Pro so it uses conventional OIS. There is also a
periscope shooter on the back with an 8MP sensor and another 8MP camera with
ultrawide and macro duties.
We are also expecting vivo to shortly list
the phone on its website - while we got the basic specs there are still some
uncertainties like exact battery capacity, dimensions and supported network
bands.
