The OnePlus Nord, also referred to as
OnePlus Z, is coming next month and the company has started building hype on
social media by dropping teasers. OnePlus hasn't revealed any specs of the
OnePlus Nord yet but if the latest report by Android Central is to be believed,
we'll see the smartphone pack a dual camera setup on the front.
According to the publication, the OnePlus
Nord will have a Huawei P40 series-like cut-out in the top-left corner of the
screen for the 32MP selfie camera which will be joined by an 8MP ultrawide
angle unit. This information was corroborated by usually reliable tipster Max
J.
All the smartphones OnePlus launched since
2014 came with a single snapper on the front and Nord was also initially
rumored to feature a single selfie camera but turns out it's going to be the
first OnePlus smartphone to pack two front-facing shooters. If previous leaks
and rumors are to be believed, the OnePlus Nord will also be the first mid-ranger
from the Chinese phone maker since the OnePlus X that was launched back in
2015.
The OnePlus Nord was spotted on Geekbench
earlier this month with a Snapdragon 765G SoC, Android 10, and 12GB RAM. It's
rumored to sport a quad camera setup on the back but its combination is
currently unknown.
However, back when it was said to come
with three rear cameras, the setup comprised a 64MP main camera, 16MP ultrawide
module and a 2MP unit, which was likely a depth sensor. But now that it's
expected to have quad cameras, the fourth module might just be a macro camera.
