In December 2019, it was revealed that
apart from the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro flagship phones, OnePlus is working
on a 5G-ready upper mid-range phone. Early rumors referred to it as OnePlus 8
Lite. In March, it was reported that the handset could be arriving in the
market as OnePlus Z. In late March, the Chinese firm filed a trademark
application for “Nord by OnePlus” moniker. Popular tipster Max J shared an
image of a four-letter word starting with N. The image has given birth to the
news that the upcoming mid-range OnePlus smartphone could be called OnePlus
Nord.
Max J who seems to know more about the
device was first to reveal that it is powered by the Snapdragon 765 mobile
platform. In the Twitter conversation which hints the Nord moniker, he said
that he does not know the OnePlus Z. Probably, he is again hinting that the
device won’t be called OnePlus Z.
Yesterday, Android Central carried an
exclusive report to reveal that it came to know through a source within OnePlus
that the mid-range OnePlus phone will be announced on July 10 in India. Since
OnePlus had to push back the launch event of the OnePlus 8 series twice, it is
advisable to wait for OnePlus to release an official confirmation on the launch
date for the OnePlus Nord smartphone.
A leaked survey that was spotted yesterday
revealed that the forthcoming Snapdragon 765 SoC powered OnePlus phone will
cost Rs. 24,990 (US$ 330) in India. The handset will come with 6 GB of RAM and
128 GB of native storage.
The survey further revealed that the
device is equipped with a 6.5-inch S-AMOLED punch-hole display with 90Hz
refresh rate support. The screen is embedded with a fingerprint reader. The
device is packed with a 4,300mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. It
has a front camera of 16-megapixel and a 64-megapixel + 16-megapixel +
2-megapixel triple camera setup on its back.
