Lenovo has just launched a new affordable
laptop which features Google’s Chrome OS. The company has quietly released the
Chromebook 3 with an 11 inch display and a low end Intel CPU. For those
unaware, Lenovo is one of the major manufacturers of Google’s Chrome OS. These
series of laptops are meant for basic computing and casual use over
productivity. Under the hood, the Lenovo laptops house 4GB of RAM and 64GB of
internal storage, which is decent for a budget computer that sports the Intel
Celeron N4020 processor.
With these specs, the Chromebook 3 can
basically handle general web browsing with ease. Its 11 inch display features a
1366 x 768px resolution on a TN panel. This display isn’t exactly top notch but
at that size and budget, it would be good enough. Notably, the display of the
laptop features a 180 degree hinge that allows it to lay completely flat on a
table.
On the front, a 720p webcam can be found
with basic connectivity features like a microSD card slot, and two USB Type C
and USB Type A ports also being provided. The design is minimalistic with a
dual tone “Onyx Black” color option which has a textured material on it. The
laptop is promised to receive till 2026 and is offered for a price of US$ 229.
