Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava is a
known name in the mobile handset industry, especially in India. The brand which
was founded in 2009 has a penchant for budget smartphones with decent specs
offering and affordable prices. A new Lava model could be in the works dubbed
Lava Z66. The model was recently spotted on the database of benchmarking outfit
GeekBench.
The GeekBench listing shows the model will
be powered by a UNISOC chipset which from the single-core and multi-core tests
looks like a entry-level SoC. The device scores 153 on the single-core test and
809 on the multicore. This places the SoC in the same range as the Snapdragon
625 and Helio P10. This should be the first Lava phone that would feature
Unisoc chipset. So, we may likely see more high-end models as time goes on.
The device is listed with 3GB of RAM and
will run on Android 10 OS out of the box which is pretty impressive. There are
no other details about the Z66 but we expect more details to emerge from Lava
soon.
