Last month, Meizu released a red-colored
Type-C gaming cable with L-shaped connector. Today, the brand launches a new
standard USB Type-C cable in white colour. It will be sold for 49 Yuan (US$ 7)
starting today through all official channels.
The new Meizu USB Type-C cable is made of
TPE (Thermoplastic elastomers) to offer soft and tangle-free experience, in addition
to toughness for durability. The cable supports up to 5A current and hence, it
can be used with most fast charging adaptors without any problem.
The cable is also resistant to
short-circuit as per the company. If a foreign object enters, the cable will
cut-off the power supply automatically to avoid damaging the phone’s port as
well as burning up of the wire.
As far as design is concerned, it comes in
classic white color with Meizu logo on the Type-C part with nothing on the USB
Type-A side. Also, the connector is vertical and not L-shaped like gaming
accessories. Lastly but not least, the cable measures 1m in size.
The new Meizu USB Type-C cable is inferior
to the company’s own Type-C gaming cable. Because the latter is 1.2m in size,
features braided wire / L-shaped connector, and is even water-resistant to some
extent. Above all, both the products cost the same 49 Yuan (US$ 7).
