Last month we received some info on an
upcoming Huawei Y8s with an actual notch on the front and a dual camera on the
back. Today the device is finally official - it was listed on Huawei’s website
in the Arab country of Jordan.
The phone brings a 6.5” LCD screen with
Full HD+ resolution. It has a relatively small notch on the top, where we have
two selfie cameras on both sides of the earpiece. There is a main 8 MP f/2.0
shooter, assisted by 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor for background blur.
The main cameras are also two - while the
secondary snapper is the very same as the one on the front, the main shooter is
48 MP with an f/1.8 aperture. They are both lined vertically and have an LED
flash to keep them company in a black rectangle setup.
The Huawei Y8s comes with a Kirin 710
chipset and 4 GB RAM, but there are two memory options - 64 GB and 128 GB, both
with support for MicroSD. The battery of the phone is 4,000 mAh, but sadly, it
charges through a microUSB port. The OS also isn’t ideal - Android Pie with
EMUI 9.1 on top, but at least it has Google services. Pricing and availability are yet to be
announced.
