The Samsung Galaxy Fold launched last year
was available in a single storage option - 512GB. But its successor, which will
be likely called the Galaxy Fold 2, will have two storage options, starting at
256GB. This information comes from the folks at SamMobile, who claim that
Galaxy Fold 2 sporting model number SM-F916 will have 256GB storage onboard,
whereas SM-F91x will come with 512GB of storage.
By offering the Galaxy Fold 2 with lower
base storage, Samsung will be able to bring down the starting price, which is
great news considering how expensive current foldable phones are.
The Galaxy Fold was priced at US$ 1,980 and
while it's unclear how much lower the lower storage version can go we are
fairly certain many people will be happy with it. After all many smartphones
out there top at 256GB storage so the majority of people certainly won't feel
limited.
