Yesterday, we saw Oppo’s upcoming 40W
AirVOOC wireless charger get certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC)
which also signals it’s nearing debut. Oppo is already set to host its Reno Ace
2 launch event on April 13 and given the rumors surrounding the device’s 40W
wireless charging capabilities we'll likely see the new AirVOOC charger debut
alongside it.
Now, we get our first live look at the
upcoming wireless charger which confirms the design seen in yesterday’s listing
and also gives us an indication of its dimensions. The bottom features several
air vents to allow for proper cooling while charging. The Qi charger is also
expected to pack a spinning fan to help keep thermals in check.
The maximum rated output of the AirVOOC
charger is listed at 65W but that will likely only be possible via a wired
connection combined with Oppo’s Super VOOC 2.0 charger, which should be present
in the Reno Ace 2’s retail packaging. The actual wireless speeds top out at
40W.
