A few days after revealing its
next-generation smartphone design, LG Mobile announced the name of the said
upcoming device, the Velvet. The LG Velvet will be the handset that will
feature the front-back symmetrical curves with the "Raindrop" back
camera design.
As the name suggests, LG said that the
Velvet will come with "lustrous smoothness and premium softness". It
added that the device has a flowing form factor that is both pleasing to the
eye and pleasing to touch. To recall, LG's new mobile design is not like the
square camera bump trend on many high-end smartphones. It sport three rear
cameras and an LED flash in descending order by size.
It says that the main camera sits slightly
above the surface while the two other camera lenses lie seamlessly under the
smooth glass. It means that it still has a camera hump, but it won't be as big
as the camera bumps for a sleeker overall look.
The "3D Arc Design" makes the
edges of the display and rear symmetrically curved for a more natural feeling
in the hands. GSMArena reported that there are rumors stating that LG might
announce the said device on May 15.
