LG just announced 12 new models for its
NanoCell TV roster. These are all LCD-based displays with 1-nanometer particles
for more accurate colors. The most notable one here is the 86-inch
model in Nano90 4K TV series that is priced at USD 3,299 which around PHP
167,000. In the Nano99 8K series, there will be a 75-inch and 65-inch variant
set to be available in May and June 2020.
Both the Nano99 and the Nano90 series will
be utilizing full-array local dimming that regulates backlighting into smaller
sections for better control as well as better black levels and contrast. The
Nano 99 series houses the Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI processor 8K which functions
similarly with the ones used in LG's OLED TVs in 2020. LG touts it to have a
"deep learning technology" for a better 8K viewing experience over
time.
LG also stated that the 8K NanoCell TVs
are the first models to qualify for the Consumer Technology Association's
requirements for the 8K Ultra HD logo. All the 12 TV models support all major
HDR formats including Dolby Vision and HDR10. Dolby Atmos is also available as
well. They will also have Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support out of the
box. Apple Airplay 2 and HomeKit are also supported via LG's own webOS Smart TV
platform.
Below are the global pricing and
availability for all 12 models. Local pricing and availability are yet to be
