DJI has scheduled an event for April 27 to
announce a new product, which according to recent leaks could be Mavic Air 2,
whose predecessor debuted in early 2018. Now, once again this upcoming drone
leaks via Brazil’s ANATEL certification revealing the entire design as well as
certain specifications.
The new DJI Mavic Air 2 leak confirms the
design of the product from the previous leak. Since these new pictures of the
forthcoming drone are from a certification portal, they are much clearer and
hence we get a better idea of how it will look in real life.
The manual, which leaked alongside the
pictures further exposes some key specifications of the drone days ahead of its
launch. According to it, the battery of Mavic Air 2 will be 3500 mAh rated at
11.5V yielding over 40WH of capacity.
Thus, it can achieve a maximum speed of 68.4 km/h with a maximum flight
time of 34 minutes. For comparison, the original DJI Mavic Air only has a 2375
mAh battery and 21 minutes of maximum flight duration.
As for optics, it will feature a 48MP
camera capable of recording 4K videos and capturing 48 megapixels still photos.
The new drone will also come with an obstacle sensor, intelligent flight modes
like ActiveTrack 3.0, Point of Interest (PoS) 3.0, QuickShot and advanced
flight assistance systems 2.0.
There’s only one thing that is still a
mystery about the DJI Mavic Air 2, which happens to be its price. Going by the
rate of leaks over the past few days, we will not be surprised if the price
comes out before the official launch.
