While the Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom
were officially announced earlier this week, it seems the Xiaomi sub-brand is
going to add more members to its 5G portfolio soon. A new listing on China’s 3C
agency database details an upcoming 5G-ready Xiaomi device with the M2002J9E
model number which is rumored to be part of the Redmi Note line. Apart from the
5G connectivity, the only other available detail in the certification shows the
device will sport 22.5W fast charging.
According to prominent Chinese tipster
Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is preparing to replace its vanilla Redmi K30 with
a new budget 5G device, priced in the CNY 1,000-1,500 ($140-200) range which is
speculated to be part of the Redmi Note line. Redmi recently launched the Note
9 Pro series outside of China and the company’s GM Lu Weibing commented that
Chinese users will get more 5G capable Redmi phones soon. As usual, we'll be on
the lookout for more details about this upcoming Redmi phone.
