Sony is hosting an event at MWC next month
where it's expected to unveil its 2020 flagship. It is rumored to be the Xperia
5 Plus which is also referred to as Xperia 1.1. While Sony hasn't revealed any
details about its upcoming smartphone, renders of the Xperia 5 Plus surfaced
earlier this month, revealing dual front speakers and five cameras on the back.
If the latest information that's surfaced
is to be believed, this setup will include a 64MP unit, a periscope unit, and
two 12MP modules (one with a huge 1/1.5" sensor and an ultrawide unit).
There will also be a 2MP ToF unit joining these cameras.
We assume the 64MP module will be used for
the shorter telephoto distances, before the periscope unit takes over at 5x or
so zoom. Details are scarce about the Xperia 1.1 right now, but we'll likely
hear more about it as we inch closer to Sony's MWC event.
