The EOS-1D X Mark III, latest flagship
camera from Canon that was launched last month, became official here in the
Philippines. Just a recap, this camera is geared with a new 20MP full-frame
CMOS sensor with the new DIGIC X processor. The sensor that comes with it is
equipped with a new
"high-detail" low-pass filter. The combination of this sensor
and new processor is said to result in better image quality and image
processing versus its predecessors.
Moreover, there was a reported improvement
to AF due to the dedicated DIGIC 8 processor for it. It is now equipped with
91-points of AF with 155 of these being cross-type points. An additional
feature of this camera is the 0-bit HDR photos using the HEIF image format, a
technology that Apple iPhone 11 is utilizing already.
The multinational company also enhanced
video capabilities with EOS-1D X Mark III. It features 2-bit 5.5K at 60fps RAW
internal video recording with a bitrate of 2600 Mbps. Apart from that, this can
also record 4K/60fps or 1080/120fps, but without Dual-Pixel Autofocus. As for
the battery, The LP-E19 is CIPA rated for 2,850 shots.
Dual-Cfexpress cards are used so the Mark
III can execute 5K video shooting. This camera also sports microphone port,
headphone port, ethernet port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB 3.1 Gen 1
(5Gbit/second). The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III will be available in key Canon
authorized partners nationwide starting March 2020, for an SRP of PHP 399,998.
