Xiaomi
has launched the Line Friends Bluetooth headset under the Youpin crowdfunding
platform. The product comes from the stable of well-known celebrity brand Line
Friends and has received several positive reviews as well as large patronage.
In
terms of appearance, the earbuds come in two design styles themed after the
famous Brown Bear and Sally characters. Not only are the colours very pleasing,
but you may also even confuse the storage box for a toy. The earbuds look very
much like the Redmi AirDots range of earbuds. The earbuds come in white only
which is a bit low-key compared to the fanciful storage box. There is a
caricature of the Brown Bear or Sally characters on each of the earbuds,
depending on the variant.
Specs-wise,
the Line Friends Bluetooth Earbuds comes with Bluetooth 5.0 technology which is
more stable and less susceptible to interference from WiFi and other Bluetooth
signals than Bluetooth 4.0. It comes with a standby time of 6days but each earphone
can provide 3.5 hours of playback time. The storage box has some magnetic
properties such that as soon as the earbuds are inserted, it gets stuck. Also,
it shuts down automatically when inside the box and turns back on when removed
from the box.
Furthermore,
the earbuds each have a transmission range of 10m and comes with an IP5X level
water and dustproof protection. Another thing is the lightweight property,
weighing just 4g. As for the pricing and availability, the earbuds are
presently available to buy on Tmall for an affordable price of 169 yuan (US$ 24).
