Last week we came across a report
which claimed that the vivo S1 Pro will be launched in India next month. We
didn't have a specific date then, but now we know it's January 4. vivo India
has updated the header image of its official Twitter account and also set up a
promotional page on its official site to reveal the launch date.
Initially, we thought vivo will launch
the Chinese version of the S1 Pro in India which is powered by the Snapdragon 675
SoC and comes with a notchless screen and triple rear cameras. But turns out
vivo will bring the global version instead that has a Snapdragon 665 SoC at the
helm and features a 6.38" FHD+ Super AMOLED notched display with quad
cameras on the back arranged in a diamond formation.
This setup is a combination of a 48MP
main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor modules. For selfies and
video calls, you get a 32MP camera on the front and there's also a fingerprint
scanner underneath the display for biometric authentication. The vivo S1 Pro
boots to Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.2 and has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage
onboard. But it does come with a microSD card slot, allowing storage expansion
by up to 256GB.
Fueling the entire package is a 4,500
mAh battery that charges through a USB-C port and supports 18W fast charging. The
S1 Pro is available in the Philippines in Fancy Sky and Knight Black colors,
but vivo India's official Twitter handle and website reveal the smartphone will
arrive in India in Fancy Sky and Blue colors.
We don't know the India price of the
vivo S1 Pro yet, but we do know that it will be sold through Amazon.in.
