Towards
the end of November, Samsung announced its Galaxy W20 5G in China which is
essentially the Galaxy Fold 5G with a Snapdragon 855+ SoC, new white paint job
and China Telecom exclusivity.
At
the event, Samsung China detailed that the phone would arrive in December but
did not specify the date nor price. Today, Samsung listed the phone on its
online store as well as popular Chinese online retailer JD.com. The asking
price was CNY 19,999 (US$ 2,842) and the phone sold out in a matter of seconds.
Those
who struck out today can try their luck again on December 20 when Samsung is
planning a restock. The W20 5G comes in a single 12GB RAM and 512GB storage
trim and only sports NSA (non-standalone) 5G which relies on existing LTE
networks for control functions.
