Samsung is gearing up
to introduce a new foldable phone in China on November 19. Previous rumors
pointed to a clamshell foldable phone but last week it became evident that W20
5G will simply be the 5G version of the Galaxy Fold. A new listing on Chinese
regulatory agency TENAA confirms this as we get the first images and
preliminary specs of the device.
The W20 5G measures
160.9x117.9x6.9mm which is identical to the Galaxy Fold in its unfolded state.
The listing also confirms the presence of a secondary screen, which measures
4.6 inches. The
battery capacity is rated at 4,135 mAh which is slightly less than the 4,380
mAh on the Galaxy Fold but this is just a preliminary spec sheet so there’s
room for error.
Samsung will hold the
announcement ceremony for the Galaxy W20 on November 19. Pricing details are
still unknown but the phone could remain exclusive to China Telecom. Judging by
the Galaxy Fold’s popularity in China, the W20 5G will likely sell out
instantly when it launches.
