LG is back on the tablet scene with its G Pad 5 10.1
which was launched in South Korea earlier today. As the name implies this is a
10.1-inch tablet that runs on Android and also packs a sizeable 8,200 mAh
battery. It comes with two cameras, a metal back and LTE, GPS and Bluetooth 4.2
connectivity.
The display itself a 10.1-inch IPS panel with FHD+
resolution. It comes with a 5MP selfie camera while the rear module ups the
megapixel count to 8. The G Pad 5 10.1 comes in at 247.2 x 150.7 x 8mm and
weighs 498 grams. The bottom features dual speakers while the top houses the 3.5mm
headphone jack. The right side houses the fingerprint reader alongside the
volume and power buttons.
Interestingly enough, LG decided to go with the
three year old Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and just 32GB storage.
The storage is expandable via the microSD slot. On the software front, we have
Android 9 Pie with LG’s custom UX on top. The battery in the G Pad 5 10.1 comes
in at 8,200 mAh and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
Pricing starts at KRW 440,000 (US$ 380) but there is no
word on international availability at this point.
