Xiaomi Black Shark
2 Pro was made official on July 30. The Black Shark 2 that was announced in
March came with Snapdragon 855 mobile platform and the Black Shark 2 Pro is its
updated version since it features the more powerful 2.96GHz Snapdragon 855+
mobile platform. Since launch, the Pro has been selling in 128 GB and 256 GB
storage versions. Now the company has started selling its 512 GB storage
edition.
The 512 GB storage
variant of the Black Shark 2 Pro phone carries 12 GB of RAM and it is priced at
3,999 Yuan (US$ 564). The already available 12 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB
RAM + 256 GB storage editions of the Black Shark 2 Pro are respectively for
2,999 Yuan (US$ 423) and 3,499 Yuan (US$ 494). The handset can be availed in two
colors like Electric Black and Ice Ash.
Xiaomi Black Shark
2 Pro New VariantsAfter the smartphone was made official, its 512 GB variant on
a refreshed TENAA listing. The listing also included new RAM variants like 6 GB
and 8 GB. These haven’t gone official yet. It is currently only available for
purchase in the home market. There is no word on its international availability
yet.
The Black Shark 2
Pro has a 6.39-inch S-AMOLED display. The notch-less display offers full HD+
resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is
backed by a 4,000mAh battery that is coupled with 27W rapid charging technology
through USB-C.
The Android 9 Pie
OS overlaid with Black Shark OS comes preinstalled on the Black Shark 2 Pro.
The rear shell of the phone has a vertical dual camera setup with 48-megapixel
Sony IMX586 lens with f/1.8 aperture with PDAF and a 12-megapixel telephoto
lens with 2x optical zoom, PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. For shooting selfies, it
has a front camera of 20-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. There is no microSD
card slot or 3.5mm audio jack on the device.
