Earlier this year, Samsung released its Galaxy Buds. At the
time, this wireless Bluetooth headset was available in black, white and yellow
colours. Now, the company has quietly added a new silver colour version. The
new version of the Samsung Galaxy Buds is currently available on its Indian
official website. The top surface of this new version does not use a solid
colour like the other versions. It uses a kind of Monet colour which makes it
colourful. The Samsung Galaxy Buds wireless headset comes with a US$ 129.99 price
tag. On Jingdong, the Chinese version cost 999 yuan (US$ 140). This headset is
listed for ₹ 9,990 (US$ 140) on Samsung India website.
The Samsung Galaxy
Buds headset battery compartment is ellipsoidal with a built-in battery life of
up to 6 hours. The headphone’s storage charging box supports wireless charging.
Thus the Galaxy S10 can charge the earphone box by reverse wireless charging.
The buds themselves are small circular in-ear type devices. It comes with
silicone ear-tips to fit and stay in the ear. The buds seem bulky to look at
but initial reviews say they are pretty comfortable.
The process of
connecting your buds to any Samsung device seems similar to that of the Apple
Airpods. Placing the buds near the device and opening up the case instantly
pairs it to the device. The top surface of the buds is touch-sensitive and it
can manually establish connect in case it does not connect automatically. The
Samsung Galaxy Buds headset is tuned by AKG’s acoustic experts. It also
features the Samsung Smart Voice Assistant Bixby, which seamlessly interfaces
with Samsung devices.
The buds run on
Bluetooth 5.0 and have a 58mAh of battery while the case host a 252 mAh
battery. It also has a proximity sensor thus it can detect if the headset is no
longer in the ear.
