Kobo has introduced a new e-reader this week in the
form of the Kobo Libra H20 which will be available to preorder from September
10th, 2019 onwards and will officially launch both online and in high street
stores a little later on September 17th 2019 priced at US$ 169.99.
The design of the Kobo Libra H20 has been influenced
by the previously launched Forma e-reader but offers a smaller form factor
equipped with a 7-inch E Ink display offering users a resolution of 1680×1264
pixels and 300ppi. To accompany the launch of the Libra H20, Kobo has also
designed a new “e-reading interface” which will shortly roll out across the
full range of Kobo’s e-readers providing extra tools for users to help increase
their reading comprehension thanks to a new “reading for understanding”
strategy from Kobo.
For example one new feature is the e-book scrubber,
providing smaller page previews that sit on top of the current page you are
viewing, enabling you to navigate through smaller previews at any time. Similar
to that already available on the Amazon Kindle devices. Other features include
updated headers providing a quick glance at the current chapter you are reading
and how many pages you have left in it as well as a new footer revealing where
you are in the current book.
