Earlier this month, Xiaomi took the wraps off its
second gaming laptop – the Mi Gaming Laptop 2019, which comes with an
impressive set of specifications. Today, the Mi Gaming Laptop 2019 will be
officially available for purchase in China through JD.com at 10:00 AM local
time, for a starting price of ¥ 7,299, roughly US$ 1,037.
The laptop comes in three models based on their
configuration. The base model with 9th Gen Intel Core i5-9300H processor,
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and 512GB PCIe SSD is priced at
¥ 7,299 (US$ 1,037).
There’s another model priced at ¥ 8,399 (US$ 1,037)
that packs 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9750H processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti,
16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 RAM, and 512GB PCIe SSD. The high-end model has the same
specs but packs NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 2060 and is priced at ¥ 8,799, roughly US$ 1,250. The Mi Gaming Laptop 2019 looks similar to the last year’s model and
comes with the same number of ports and vents, a 15.6-inch display with the
same bezel size, and the exact keyboard layout.
The 15.6-inch display offers 81 percent
screen-to-body ratio and 72% color gamut as well as 144Hz refresh rate for much
smoother gameplay. All the model have dual-band WI-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 2 x 3W
speakers, Dolby Audio, and a 1MP HD webcam.
Coming to the ports, there are 4 x USB 3.0 ports, 1
x Ethernet port, 1 x microphone port, 1 x headphone jack, 1 x HDMI output port,
and a 3-in-1 card reader. Although the dimensions are still the same (364 x
265.2 x 20.9 mm), the 2019 version weighs a tiny bit less at 2.6kg against last
year’s model which is 2.7kg.
The Mi Gaming Laptop 2019 comes with 4-color
LED-backlit keyboard with 3 different modes, a glass touchpad with multiple
gesture control, and ships with Microsoft‘s Windows 10 Home pre-installed. It
has a 55Whr battery that is claimed to provide up to 4.5 hours of video
playback, 4 hours of video streaming, and 4.5 hours of web browsing.
