The Realme 5 series are launching on August 20 -
just 8 days from now. The company just sent out the invites for the event,
confirming the arrival of its next gen phones.
In a teaser posted on Flipkart, the company spoke of
"joining the 5quad”, hinting at the quad-camera setup that will debut on
the 5. However the 64 MP shooter will not be a part of that as we understood in
our hands on, as it's coming on a different device in time for Diwali, which is
on October 27.
Madhav Sheth, head of Realme India, confirmed the
sensor with some clever math, revealing the 4-camera setup will have 48 MP main
shooter with Sony IMX586 sensor and will be accompanied by an ultra-wide camera
with 119 degrees FoV. The third shooter will be a dedicated macro lens, while
the fourth is a depth sensor for portrait photos.
Other specs are yet to be revealed, but knowing how
Realme teases its devices little by little, we expect to know more in the next
8 days, leading to the announcement.
