A new open source Raspberry Pi tablet is currently
under development and could be launching before the end of this year. The aptly
named CutiePi Ra three pie tablet is equipped with an 8 inch touchscreen and is
powered by a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 Lite, fitted to a custom carrier
board.
The Raspberry Pi tablet will run the Linux-based
Raspbian operating system and will include a touch friendly user interface
called Qt. The IPS LCD MIPI DSI touchscreen display will provide users with a
1280 x 800 pixel resolution and the tablet is fitted with a 4,800 mAh battery,
a USB-A port, a microSD card reader, and 6 GPIO pins.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or
worldwide availability has been released as yet for the CutiePi, but as soon as
information comes to light, we will keep you updated as always.
