India is the world’s second-largest market after
China. But if the latter has already started switching to 5G, India is still
far from this technology. We don’t say it will take ages until Indian users can
use 5G smartphones. But this requires a lot of investment and work. So whether
or no, it will not happen very quickly. However, some manufacturers have
already begun preparing the first 5G-enabled equipment. Today, 91mobiles
reported the first Coolpad 5G smartphones are on the way to India.
Cool said it will be the first company in India to
launch a 5G phone. It has been investing in 5G technology since 2012 and will
launch 5G smartphones when India’s 5G infrastructure is ready. However, this
may take a while (as we mentioned above).
It is reported that Coolpad has applied for more
than 800 5G-related patents and obtained about 120 5G end-to-end patents.
Coolpad is still negotiating with MediaTek and Qualcomm on the use of related
5G technology on smartphones. Cool India CEO said that the company is expected
to launch 5G smartphones next year. This sounds sad but we have what we have.
Those who are unaware of this brand, Coolpad has
been selling equipment in India since 2007 and recently launched a new Cool 3
Plus in the country. These are mainly mid-range smartphones at affordable price
tags. In this sense, currently, 5G is available only through flagship models.
So next year, more people will be able to afford themselves buying such
handsets. the Coolpad 5G smartphones are the best proof.
