YouTuber Jack Catalig of Cherry Mobile has recently
uploaded an unboxing video of an upcoming entry-level smartphone from the local
tech giant with promising design and specs under PHP 5K the Flare Y7 Pro. Based on his video, the Cherry
Mobile Flare Y7 Pro is equipped with a matte-like polycarbonate shell combined
with aluminum titanium alloy injection. Basically, its body is a powder mixture of metal and polymer.
In front, it uses a large enough 2.5D curved
5.7-inch HD+ panel with 19:9 TrueView tall aspect ratio, small teardrop notch,
and pretty slim top and side bezels. Under the hood, it runs with 12nm
2.0GHz 64-bit Helio A22 quad-core processor paired with PowerVR GE8300 GPU. It
is a speedy enough chip found on budget phones.
But unlike other sub-PHP 5K phones, Cherry Mobile
Flare Y7 Pro is not packed with 2GB or 3GB RAM, instead, it has 4GB RAM inside.
That's surprisingly HUGE for a budget device. Moreover, it is coupled with ample 32GB storage
instead of just 16GB versus other entry-level phones. It is even expandable via
microSD up to 128GB. The battery is rated at 3,000mAh with some sort of quick charge tech.
On the camera part, it features a dual-camera setup,
the 16MP Sony IMX298 primary sensor + 2MP GC2375 depth sensor. For selfies,
there's a 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 sensor with face unlock tech. It comes with a side-mounted
fingerprint reader, AW8898 audio amplifier, gyroscope sensor, WiFi 802.11
a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and hybrid dual
SIM slots.
