Just around the time the Xiaomi
CC9 and Xiaomi CC9e phones were about to launch, news of Xiaomi’s
next-generation Android One phones also surfaced again. The reason for this is
because of evidence showing that the CC9 and CC9e might also launch as the Mi
A3 and Mi A3 Lite in other markets began to show up. Now renders of the Mi A3
including its specs have surfaced.
The official renders and specs show that the Mi A3
will come in three color variants – black, blue, and white; the same ones as
the Xiaomi CC9. Since this is the same device as the CC9, we don’t need to go over
the design again, but it is important to mention that it is nice to have the
audio jack return following its removal in the Mi A2. There is also the new
Android One logo at the bottom left of the phone.
According to Winfuture.de, the source of the images
and leaked specs, the Mi A3 will come with a 6.0-inch 2240 x 1080 Super AMOLED
Dot Drop display with a fingerprint scanner underneath. The notch is home to a
32MP selfie camera.
On the back, the phone has three cameras – a 48MP
f/1.79 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Coming to the processor, the Mi A3 differs from the CC9 as it swaps the
Snapdragon 710 processor for the Snapdragon 665 chipset. This is the same info
our source told us yesterday which means the Mi A3 is sort of the CC9 with the
CC9e’s chipset. Nevertheless, Roland Quandt does advise that he isn’t 100% sure
of the specs, so better to take it with a grain of salt.
The Mi A3 will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB
of storage and will also have support for storage expansion which Xiaomi once
again removed from the Mi A2. Its battery capacity is 4000mAh and there is
support for fast charging, though the exact type isn’t mentioned. The phone
will have a USB type-C port and an IR blaster for controlling your electronic
appliances. It will run Android 9 Pie out of the box.
