Sony is giving creative professionals more reason to
give their loyalty to the brand with its newly released MRW-S3 USB Hub and the TOUGH
SF-M series SD card line. The MRW-S3 is a UHS-II SD/microSD card reader and USB Hub with USB
3.1 Gen 2 in one. Sony claims it to be the world’s fastest USB Hub providing
high-speed data transfers of up to 1000MB/s.
MRW-S3 can receive up to 100W USB Power Delivery for
stable connections, notifies users of USB power level, and has an HDMI output
to support signals up to 4K 30p. It comes in a sturdy aluminum body with a wave
texture to enhance grip and repel scratches.
This multi-functional file transferring solution is
easy to carry around, tipping the scales at 95 g. It also comes with a
detachable USB-C to USB-C cable, which can also be used to connect USB 3.1 Gen
2 devices or USB PD AC adapter up to 100W with its embedded eMarker.
The new SF-M TOUGH is the latest addition to Sony’s
line of TOUGH SD cards. As its name suggests, the SF-M TOUGH is shockproof and
is advertised to the have the highest-grade waterproof and dustproof levels
(IP68) within its class.
This specification SD card boasts data transfer
speeds of up to 277MBs read and 150MB/s write. Sony also claims that the SF-M
series is fast enough for RAW burst shooting or a quick file back up to a PC. For added reliability, the SD
cards also come with software Memory card File rescue and SD Scan Utility. The
series will be sold in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities.
The MRW-S3 and SF-M series be available around the
3rd quarter of the month, while there’s no news as to the pricing of the
products. There is no word yet on pricing and availability in the Philippines.
