Canon recently announced the G5X Mk. II along with
arguably the best pocketable vlogging camera, the G7X Mk. III. Both are coming
to the Philippines soon! Canon has just announced two new pocketable cameras with unique and
innovative features that have yet to be seen in the market.
Both cameras carry a 20MP 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor
with the DIGIC 8 image processor that allows to shoot up to 20fps at up to
a maximum ISO of 12,800 stills. It can
capture up to 4K video up to 30fps, 1080 up to 120fps, HDR and high frame rate
movie with NO CROP!
At the back of both cameras is a 180-degree tilting
touch display while at the side. Both can connect via micro-HDMI, Bluetooth,
Wi-Fi, and can connect and charge via USB Type-C. First up is the G7X Mk. III which arguably could be
the ultimate pocket camera ever. Aside from the features mentioned above, it
features a 3.5mm microphone jack and the ability to live-stream to YouTube
directly.
In front is a 4.2x optical lens with optical image
stabilization that offers an equivalent focal length of 24-100 f/1.8-2.8 in
35mm. Next up is the G5X Mk. II that has a new 2.36 Million-dot, 0.39-inch
OLED pop-up, pull-out, electronic viewfinder (EVF). In front is a 5x optical
lens with optical image stabilization which offers a 24-120mm f/1.8-2.8
equivalent focal length in 35mm.
The Canon G7X Mk. III is priced at USD 750 while the
G5X Mk. II is priced at USD 900 and will be available in the United States on
August 2019. Canon Philippine's Instagram posts only mentioned that it is coming
soon. There is no word yet on local pricing and on local availability.
