vivo's newly established subbrand is about to
release its second smartphone - iQOO Neo, a lighter and more affordable variant
of the gaming powerhouse that was the original iQOO. Today we got to see the
device in the flesh along with some specs courtesy of TENAA, while the company
posted a teaser about the chipset of the device - a Snapdragon 845.
The phone is still in its preliminary stages of
licensing, but the Chinese regulatory revealed some basic specs like the
dimensions - 159.5 x 75.2 x 8.1 mm and the screen diagonal of 6.38”. Since the
initial images do not showcase a fingerprint scanner, it is likely to be under
the OLED display.
While the vivo iQOO comes with an even larger 4,000
mAh battery, the iQOO Neo will have a monster 4,500 mAh cell, but will probably
skip on the 44W charging capabilities due to lack of space for the controller;
at least it will have both USB-C and 3.5 mm audio jack.
Rumors also suggested 6/128 GB memory combo with a
price tag of CNY 1,998 (US$ 300), but we are yet to receive credible
confirmation of this one.
