Nubia which is ZTE’s sub-brand introduced the Nubia
X smartphone with a secondary AMOLED screen last year. Almost after 8 months,
today, the company announced the 5G variant of the Nubia X called Nubia X 5G
with Qualcomm’s X50 modem.
Nubia X 5G was unveiled at the 5G+ mobile conference
hosted by China Mobile today. The Nubia X 5G is powered by the Qualcomm
Snapdragon 855 SoC and features Qualcomm’s X50 modem for 5G connectivity. The
5G logo is present next to the rear dual LED flash indicating that this
smartphone is 5G capable. There is no change in the design and is similar to
last year’s Nubix X smartphone.
The company hasn’t revealed detailed specifications
of the Nubia X 5G, but it is expected to be similar to the Nubia X 4G variant.
Also, there is no information yet on when it will be launched, but we do know
that it will first premiere in China and might come to other 5G markets too.
To recall, Nubia X has a 6.26-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect
ratio display with minimal bezels, 93.6% screen-body ratio and no notch since
it doesn’t have a front camera, and a secondary 5.1-inch HD+ AMOLED screen that
blends into the glass body. It is patented for eye protection with a separate
mode. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with AI scene recognition, dual-tone
LED flash along with a secondary 24-megapixel camera. It has a fingerprint
sensor on both the sides so it is suitable for both the right and left-handers.
It packs a 3800mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast
charging.
