Huawei introduced its latest tablet offerings with the MediaPad M6 duo today. We have
two slates actually - coming in at 8.4 inches and 10.8 inches. The only other
difference between them is battery capacity.
Both MediaPad M6 versions come with LCD panels of
2560×1600 pixel resolution with nicely slim bezels (in tablet terms, at least).
The larger 10.8-inch version packs a 7,500mAh battery while the smaller one
comes with a 6,100 mAh cell. Both tablets come with 8MP front cams and 13MP rear shooters. This
year Huawei also added a Harman Kardon branded quad speaker setup for the
larger tablet for more immersive media consumption.
The Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 and 10.8 are powered by
the Kirin 980 SoC and come with 4GB RAM while storage can be either 64GB or
128GB. They run EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9.1. Thanks to the new pogo pins
Huawei is also bringing a keyboard case for added productivity. The slates also
have USB Type-C ports, 3.5mm audio jacks and microSD card slots.
The MediaPad M5 10.8 is available for pre-order
starting today and will hit stores on July 10. The starting price for the base
4GB/64GB Wi-Fi-only model is CNY 2,299 (US$ 335) and goes up to CNY 3,499 (US$ 510)
for the top of the line 4/128GB version with cellular network support.
The smaller 8.4-inch tab goes on
pre-order July 7, while official sales start July 20. Pricing starts at CNY
1,999 (US$ 290) for the 4/64GB Wi-Fi model and goes up to CNY 2,699 (US$ 392) for the
4/128GB cellular version.
