Hardware manufacturer ECS has unveiled its
latest Liva Z3 Plus mini PC which was thought to be powered by the Intel Ice
Lake CPU but in fact will actually be powered by the upcoming Intel Comet Lake
chip. The ECS Liva Z3 Plus is expected to ship with an Intel Comet Lake chip
offering next-generation 14nm processor which is expected to follow on from
Intel’s Coffee Lake CPUs.
Features of the mini PC which is expected to be
available in two versions, one offering a larger system providing enough room
for a 2.5 inch HDD or SSD as well as M.2 storage, and a smaller version with
just an M.2 2280 SSD slot. Internally the mini PC is equipped with two SODIMM
slots supporting DDR4-2400 memory.
The mini PC measures 128mm x 117mm x 32mm in size
and both versions will feature a Mini DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0 port, 2 x Gigabit
Ethernet ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C port and 3 x USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Wireless
connectivity will be provided by support for 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2
and of course audio input in the form of a headset jack.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or
worldwide availability has been released as yet by ECS, but as soon as
