Chuwi MiniBook has been in the works for a long time
with the Chinese manufacturer wanting to offer something exquisite to the
public. Well, the ultimate portable laptop is now a reality since the
crowdfunding campaign just went live on Indiegogo with 2 versions available.
The standard version comes with the Celeron N4100 processor while the top
version will feature the Core M3-8100Y processor.
Chuwi MiniBookBoth versions come with 8GB of RAM and
128GB of storage with the base version costing just US$ 399 for those who will
catch the Super Early Bird discount, US$ 429 for Early Birds, and US$ 449 special
price for the rest. At the same time, the corresponding prices for the Core
M3-8100Y versions are US$ 499, US$ 529, and US$ 549. The MiniBook combines ultra-portable
mini size and 360° YOGA design with 8GB/128GB configuration and M.2 SSD
expansion slot. Also, it sports a full-featured USB Type-C.
Unlike the average notebooks that measure about
300*210mm, the size of the MiniBook is reduced by 2.5 times. It looks more like
a very big smartphone as it sports an 8″ touch display rather than a heavy
laptop. This allows the user to even put it into his pocket or backpack easily
and take it out fast.
The new gem from Chuwi is powered by Intel’s latest
8100Y processor at its top version and it is made using the 14nm++
manufacturing method. It’s a dual-core/four-threaded CPU with a turbo frequency
of 3.4GHz. Also, the UHD Graphics 615 clocks at up to 900MHz, contributing to
104cb and 218cb in the Cinebench performance test, 3658 and 6067 scores in
Geekbench 4 test.
Chuwi MiniBookBesides the standard 8GB/128GB memory
configuration, the Chuwi MiniBook also supports dual expansion via the M.2 SSD
slot and TF card. In addition, theM3-8100Y version comes with an upgraded motherboard
bus which supports NVMe protocol and PCI-E*4 channel with theoretical
read/write speeds exceeding 2000MB/s.
Coming with a modern Type-C USB port, MiniBook
supports PD 2.0 power delivery to ensure you a worry-free charging for the
26.6Wh high-capacity battery. Aside from that, it also features a mini-HDMI
port, a USB 3.0 Type-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, etc.
Besides the Early Bird discounts, Chuwi is also
offering the “Recommended Gifts” activity. Through this activity, those who
order the MiniBook and recommend someone that also buys Chuwi’s new UMPC, will
receive a free EVA protection bag worth US$ 50. It is a limited offer though, so
don’t miss it.
