The rugged smartphone series from Ulefone, Armor, is
one of the best out there and the Chinese manufacturer has built a good
reputation among users. The Armor 6 that was released at the beginning of the
year is the company’s current flagship and combines fashionable design together
with good specs. Well, that is until now as Ulefone is planning on releasing an
upgraded version of it next month: Ulefone Armor 6E.
As far as design is concerned, the Armor 6E retains
the same design as its predecessor but the specs will be upgraded at a great
extent. For starters, it comes with the Helio P70 SoC instead of P60 that is
kinda outdated. The CPU frequency is raised from 2.0GHz to 2.1GHz, and the AI
processing capability is also greatly improved. According to the test result of
AnTuTu AI Benchmark, Helio P70 has a higher score than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon
660, a very powerful midrange SoC. As for the memory configuration, it packs
4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, enough for everyday use.
The camera setup includes a dual camera on the rear
that relies on Samsung sensors. The 16MP main camera captures clear and crisp
images while the secondary 2MP creates help to create Bokeh effect. In
conjunction with the AI power from the Helio P70, it learns and acts quickly to
enhance photos in real-time. The selfie shooter hosts an 8MP sensor for
beautiful selfies.
The battery under the hood is a 5000mAh one, just
like the one found on the previous model and can give you 2 to 3 days of use on
a single charge. It also supports Qi 10W for cable-free charging. In addition
to all the above, the Armor 6E comes with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. The
latest and greatest from Google provides smooth performance, excellent power
management, and uninterrupted multitasking. Oh, there’s NFC with Google Pay
support too.
The release date is set for May 6th on Banggood and
the official pre-sale price is set at US$ 199.99 for the first 3000 units. If you
want a rugged phone with powerful performance and good shooting quality, Armor
6E will be a good choice for you since it packs the latest SoC from MediaTek,
Samsung sensors, and a big battery.
