Last week, a Realme device passed through the TENAA
with a large bezel-less display and a pop-up camera. The device was explicitly
named RMX1901 on the filing, but we are now learning this Realme smartphone is
going to be called the ‘Realme X’. This according to Chief Marketing Officer of
Realme: Xu Qi Chase.
The CMO made a Weibo post that revealed the phone’s
name. A promotional video for Realme was posted to the phone maker’s Weibo
account with a new Realme song. The video also showed the unreleased smartphone
in a few quick shots. This looks like the same RMX1909 device that we saw in the TENAA
listing.
At the current time, the only likely hardware
specifications for the device are a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display, 16MP pop-up
selfie camera, and a 3,680 mAh battery. The Realme X is expected to debut
in China along with the Realme 3 Pro – which is already on sale in India.
Realme will launch the phones in China, but the company hasn’t confirmed a firm
launch date. It is likely this will happen sometime in May.
