Today Oppo announced the A9x - a slightly more
powerful version of the A9 that debuted last month. The biggest change here is
the 48MP main sensor at the back which replaces the 16MP unit present on the
A9. Another difference between the A9 and A9x is in the battery
department. Both pack a 4,020 mAh cell, but the A9x comes with support for VOOC
3.0 fast charging which is missing from the vanilla A9.
That said, the A9x retains the rest of the hardware
from the A9, including the Helio P70 SoC, 6GB RAM, 6.53-inch FHD+ display, and
the 16MP selfie shooter. The smartphone has 128GB of storage onboard, runs Android Pie-based
ColorOS 6, and is offered in Meteorite Black and Ice Jade White colors.
The Oppo A9x is priced at CNY 1,999 (US$ 289) and goes
on sale in China from May 21.
