If a 6-inch display simply isn't big enough for you
to enjoy reading ebooks, Barnes & Noble may have the ebook reader you've
been waiting for launching later this month.
The bookseller has just announced the latest
addition to its ebook reader line in the form of the Nook GlowLight Plus. It's
the company's largest to date, sporting a 7.8-inch E Ink display complete with
"glowlight" technology allowing for easy reading regardless of the
lighting conditions. There's also 8GB of on-board storage for "thousands
of books."
The waterproof case has a soft-touch finish meant to
make it easier to hold for extended periods of book-reading time. Page turning
buttons are present on both sides of the device, and the glowlight color is
adjustable from cool to warm tones to help match the natural lighting at the
time of day or night you're trying to read.
Clearly B&N is targeting consumers looking for
an ebook reader for their summer holidays. That larger display and
waterproofing is sure to be a big draw, and it will have to be as the GlowLight
Plus costs US$ 199.99.
