On April 23, Meizu had launched the Snapdragon 855
powered Meizu 16s smartphone. At the launch event of the phone, the company had
confirmed that it would be available in Pearl White, Carbon Black and Phantom
Blue color editions. Except for the blue model, the Meizu 16s has been selling
in white and black variants since launch. The Chinese firm has today confirmed
through Weibo that the Phantom Blue Meizu 16s will be available for purchase
from May 13.
The Meizu 16s Phantom Blue sales will begin at 10:00
AM through various retailers in China. It will be available with a starting
price of 3,198 Yuan. It is said that the Phantom Blue edition of the smartphone
is inspired from the Strait of Mozambique. It looks like a combination of ocean
and oasis. It comes with eight layers of nano-optical coating and the gradient
color reflects different shades depending on the way it is held.
The Meizu 16s comes with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display.
Its notch-less display featuring slim bezels around. It carries support for
1080 x 2232 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is equipped with an in-display
fingerprint reader. The Snapdragon 855 mobile platform of the Meizu 16s is assisted by up
to 8 GB of RAM. For storage, it comes with an internal storage of up to 256 GB.
There is no microSD card slot on the device.
The Flyme 7.3 UI based Android 9 Pie OS comes loaded
on the device. It features an OIS enabled 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor and a
telephoto lens of 20-megapixel in its dual camera setup. For capturing selfies,
it features a frontal shooter of 20-megapixel. The 3,600mAh battery of the
phone is equipped with support for 24W mCharge fast charging. It comes with
3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers and NFC support.
The Meizu 16s comes in three variants such as 6 GB
RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.
They are respectively priced at 3,198 Yuan (US$ 470) , 3,498 Yuan (US$ 515) and
3,998 Yuan (US$ 588).
