Asus is ramping up its teaser campaign for the
Zenfone 6 smartphone, which will get its official outing on May 16 during a
special event in Valencia, Spain. The handset's tagline is
"defy ordinary", and it sure looks the part judging from the outline
shared by Asus through its social media channels today. As you can see, there's
no notch anywhere, and the screen seems practically bezel-less.
This makes us obviously assume that it's employing a
pop-up selfie camera of some sort. But there may be more to the story and we
could in fact get a crazy dual-slider design.
The Zenfone 6 has previously been certified by the
FCC with a dual rear camera setup, of which the main snapper has been rumored
to come with 48 MP resolution. The Zenfone 6 will support 18W fast charging,
and it will have a dual-SIM version.
AnTuTu told us it's going to have a 1080+ screen,
6GB of RAM, and 128GB storage, while at the helm you can expect Qualcomm's
Snapdragon 855 SoC. The phone will run Android 9 Pie, unsurprisingly.
