Acer has announced updated versions of the Swift 3
and Nitro 5 gaming laptops. It now comes with 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen CPUs and Radeon
Graphics. First off, the AMD powered Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop retained its
design, I/O ports and the rest of the internal specs of the Intel variant. It comes with15.6-inch FHD IPS
display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. It now
runs with a 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen 3750H mobile processor and Radeon RX 560X GPU.
As there is no definite information is given about
the rest of the specs, speculations point to the direction of up to 16GB of RAM
a 1TB mechanical HDD with an optional SSD with Intel Optane memory
support.Gigabit WiFi 5 with 2x2 MU-MIMO support is also said to be present as
well as the Acer CoolBoost technology for thermal management.
On the other hand, the Acer Swift 3 sports a 14-inch
FHD IPS display with a 180-degree rotating hinge with a lightweight body. It
will have the 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen 3700 mobile processor with Radeon Vega
graphics. In addition, an option to go for a Radeon 540X variant is also
available. Price and availability were not yet revealed for the two new laptops.
Acer is set to showcase the new machines at Computex 2019 in Taiwan between May
28 and June 2.
