Xiaomi has announced a special edition Mi 9 today.
The Mi 9 Roy Wang Limited Edition is practically a Mi 9 Transparent Edition
with “ROY” engraved on the back. It also comes in a special retail box with
special gifts and accessories.
The limited edition Mi 9 comes with 8GB of RAM and
128GB of storage. It also has custom themes and comes with a Roy Wang grip
case, a signed picture, a theme card, and a limited edition collection
certificate.
The Mi 9 Roy Wang Limited Edition will sell for
¥ 3599 (US$ 536), slightly lesser than the 8GB + 256GB Mi 9 Transparent Edition
which is supposed to go on sale later this month. The 8GB + 256GB version of the Mi
9 Transparent Edition has a 48MP f/1.75 primary camera and not an f/1.47 aperture
like the 12GB version. There is a chance the Roy Wang Limited Edition has an
f/1.75 aperture too.
The rest of the specs are the same irrespective of
the variant you buy. You get a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop
notch. There is a Snapdragon 855 processor under the hood and a 3300mAh battery
with support for 20W wireless fast charging and 27W wired fast charging.
On the back of the phone sits a 48MP primary camera,
a 16MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The selfie camera is a 20MP sensor. The Mi 9 also has an in-display fingerprint
scanner, a dedicated AI assistant button, an IR port, NFC, and a USB Type-C
port.
The limited edition phone will be available for
purchase April 9 on the official Mi online store.
