Withings opened a new factory in
Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, which means two things – the new Move watches are
now made in France and they can be customized (for European customers only for
now).
There are a total of 5,800 combinations – clicking
the Customize button lets you pick the case, strap, dial and the tracker hand.
If you can’t decide, there are some pre-made combos or you can just hit
Randomize. The watch costs € 70 normally, customized versions are € 10 more. They
will take 1-3 days to manufacture.
The Withings Move is a hybrid watch with 18 month
battery life. It features sleep and activity tracking (including swimming as
it’s water-resistant up to 50m). The tracker hand indicates your progress
through the day as you reach your fitness goals. There’s a version with ECG
coming soon (presumably it will be customizable as well).
You can try customizing the Move at withings.com. By
the way, the company plans to open a factory in the US by the end of the year,
so customization will likley expand to the other side of pond too.
