Over the weekend Sega has announced that the highly
anticipated miniaturised retro games console taking the form of the, Genesis
Mini will be launching later this year on September 19th, 2019. Unfortunately
no pricing has been announced as yet by Sega but the new mini console will come
preloaded with 40 games and two classic wired 3-button control pads.
Following in the footsteps of previously announced
mini consoles such as the Sony’s Playstation Classic or Nintendo’s Classic Mini
NES and SNES, the Sega Genesis Mini offers a nicely wrapped emulator capable of
playing Sega retro games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania: Bloodlines,
Altered Beast, Toejam & Earl, Ecco the Dolphin, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean
Machine, Space Harrier II, Shining Force, Comix Zone and Gunstar Heroes. With
more to be announced by Sega in the coming months.
