Last year, a couple of manufacturers announced
gaming phones. Brands like Black Shark and Nubia even released two gaming
phones. Black Shark has already released its first gaming phone for this year
and Nubia is set to reply with the Red Magic 3 on April 28. The phone was
spotted at a public event today, ahead of the launch next week.
The Red Magic 3 was on display at the League of
Legends LPL Spring Championship finals today. Those who attended were lucky enough
to get an early look at the upcoming gaming phone and someone was kind enough
to share pictures.
The Red Magic 3 is shown in a glass box, but only
its back is visible. The phone itself also has a case on. The design doesn’t
seem to be different from that of the Red Magic Mars. There is still a single
camera on the back of the device and the fingerprint scanner still has a
hexagonal shape, although the Red Magic logo has been moved. It now sits
between the camera and the fingerprint scanner. The color variant in the image
is red but we expect Nubia will announce other colors too.
The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855
processor with 12GB of RAM and a 5000mAh battery. It has also been reported
that it will have a display with a high refresh rate. Most phones have a
refresh rate of 60Hz but a few ones like the 2017 Sharp Aquos R, Razer Phone,
and Razer Phone 2 have a refresh rate of 120Hz. A display with a higher refresh
rate results in faster animations and more fluid responses when scrolling or
most importantly when playing games, compared to 60Hz displays.
